Design of New Facility
Americas Engineers, Inc. was selected to join a team of design firms alongside Populous (formerly HOK Sport Venue) in the design of the new Evansville Arena. AEI is working directly under M.E. Engineers, Inc. and is responsible for the complete design of the Fire Protection System as well as the partial design of the Mechanical and Electrical Systems. DUKE ENERGY

Administration and Control Room Building
Americas Engineers, Inc. was selected by a team from Duke Energy Corporation to partner up in the design of their new generating station in Edwardsport, Indiana. This new state-of-the-art generating facility will occupy over 100 acres, and is the first use of this new technology in the United States. This new industrial facility will allow the client to increase their overall generating capacity, therefore alleviating some of the stress on the nations aging power grid.

Norman P. Wagner Center Renovation
Americas Engineers, Inc. partnered up with Vectren Corporation to meet their needs of a complete facility renovation. The existing four-story corporate office building had outgrown its original design intent, after the construction of a new eight-story facility on the river front. Working closely with the client, the common goal was to increase user occupancy and efficiency, as well as standardize office systems throughout the building.

Americas Engineers, Inc. worked hand-in-hand with Shoe Carnival and Woodward Commercial Realty, Inc. to design the electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and communications systems for this corporate facility. Special focus was given to meet the client's distinct design requirements while minimizing overall project cost. |

EVANSVILLE VANDERBURGH SCHOOL CORPORATION

Highland Elementary School Addition & ADA Assessment
Americas Engineers, Inc. cooperated with the EVSC in designing the structural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing for a two-story addition to the existing school building. The first floor houses administrative offices, faculty resource rooms, nurse’s station, and a new kindergarten classroom, while the second floor encompasses three new classrooms with separate boys and girls restrooms. An ADA assessment of the entire building was conducted to ensure the facility’s compliance with ADA regulations. |

TOYOTA
MOTOR
MANUFACTURING,

Loading Docks
Americas Engineers, Inc. again teamed up with Toyota to provide design/build services. The two-phase project included installing a fourth loading dock next to three existing docks on one side of the plant, and installing four new loading docks on the other side of the plant. Special attention was given to scheduling and construction supervision to ensure that plant operations were not interefered with during the construction of the new docks.

HERDILLIA SCHENECTADY

Flood Damage Analysis
Performed in association
with Moore & Associates, Americas
Engineers’ team members
visited the Herdillia
Schenectady operations in India
to assess damage to the entire
facility due to the July, 2005
flooding. All pumps, air compressors
and vessels were inspected
and a report was prepared
for repair, replacement and
associated costs. Additionally,
all civil/structural issues
such as roads, parking and
businesses within the plant
were thoroughly inspected.
A comprehensive list
of damages with specific repair
requirements was submitted
to corporate for consideration
and approval. |

5 Service Centers in Indiana
and Ohio
Operational Facilities Assessment
Americas Engineers,
Inc. performed visual assessment of five of
Vectren’s Service Centers
in Boonville, Indiana; Noblesville,
Indiana; West Dayton, Ohio;
Evansville, Indiana; and Terre
Haute, Indiana. Based upon
these inspections, AEI generated
reports assessing the facilities’ equipment,
structures and systems.
These reports enabled facility
coordinators to better prepare
and plan for critical and routine
maintenance items for capital
expense budgeting. Upon completion,
AEI was authorized to perform
inspections of additional Vectren
facilities in southwestern
Indiana. |

Pilot
Office
The Pilot Office was
a design/build
project
for a
6,000
square
foot
self-standing
office
facility
inside
the existing
Toyota
plant. Americas Engineers,
Inc.
challenges were to relocate
the fire protection system
and overhead door to the
body weld shop taking into
consideration the special
HVAC requirements and a
complete
glass wall
on the
east side.
AEI completed
all work on schedule as
design/build
utilizing
eight sub-contractors.

Evansville, Indiana
Renovations to Line 3 and Line
4
Americas Engineers, Inc. designed
and developed a pre-squaring
device to reduce maintenance
and constant breakage of glass
on Line 3. This device was
developed to include all patterns
of glass. Additionally, AEI
designed and modified safety
switches for the gates, installed
new wiring, safety relays and
pilz controller. Work was performed
as a design/build under the
constant supervision of AEI. |
