I-595 Express Corridor Roadway Improvements Project

Americas Engineers Project

AEI personnel (while an employee of another consultant firm) was involved in the contract to provide design support to AECOM for the reconstruction of I-595 corridor as well as all associated improvements to adjacent crossroads, frontage roads, and ramps from the I-75/Sawgrass Expressway interchange to the I-595/I-95 interchange on I-595 and from Peters road to Griffin road on Florida's turnpike, for a total project length of 13 miles.  Highlights of the major improvements include tolled reversible ground level express lanes serving express traffic from/to I-75 with a direct connection to median of Florida turnpike, geometric improvements to I-595/Florida turnpike interchange, addition of auxiliary lanes on the east bound and westbound I- 595 and SR-84 and accommodation of a transit envelope within the corridor.
AEI personnel:

  • Generated roadway cross-sections for Zone-3, and roadway plans, cross-sections for Zone-8A and Zone-8B.

  • Prepared drainage structure sheets for Zone-7, Zone-8A and Zone-8B using ASAD and GEOPAK.

  • Designed Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) for Zone-8A and Zone-8B.

  • Assisted Project Manager in the overall coordination of utility activities and generated design base files utilized by all the zones. Utility Co-ordination tasks performed include utility layout and QA/QC for conflicts of miscellaneous walls and bridge foundations with utility plans.
