Programming Improvements
PGW contracted Americas Engineers, Inc. to provide programming services for PGW to improve production line sequencing throughout the factory. Programming changes were made on Allen Bradley and Modicon line control PLC's. Improvements were made to accumulator systems on multiple production lines to improve the reliability and reduce the downtime with these systems. Sequencing changes were made to conveyor and dryer systems to ensure the glass would cycle properly through the dryer system. This improved throughput of the process and reduced downtime in the downstream process. Americas Engineers, Inc. modified Conveying system controls to allow for extra inspection of the product and improved equipment start up sequencing to reduce start up time.
